Save money – Multifamily Energy Savings Program from Minnesota Energy Resources

Immediate savings for apartment owners:

Pine Crest Manor

Mora, MN – This September, energy experts from the new Multifamily Energy Savings program were in Mora, MN on a mission to help customers save energy and reduce operating costs for 120 participating apartment units. This program, provided by natural gas utility Minnesota Energy Resources, brings expert energy efficiency advice and immediate gas and water savings to each participating building.

Dala House

Dala House Apartments, Vasa House Apartments, Pine Crest Manor Apartments and Eastwood Senior Living are the first to participate in this program from the Mora area.

Corrie Bastian, from the Center for Energy and Environment reported the following update.  “We have already installed high-efficiency faucet aerators and showerheads in all of the apartment units in the Mora HRA buildings, which are already saving energy in the buildings. We are currently putting final touches on reports for each building that will identify additional energy saving opportunities. These reports will give Rose Dunn and the team at the HRA of Mora an opportunity to consider additional investments that will further reduce the energy use and improve the performance of the buildings.”

Participating multifamily property managers will receive a customized report with cost-effective energy-saving recommendations for their building, along with professional installation of high-efficiency shower heads and faucet aerators for immediate energy savings in every apartment. Further, experts will help complete any recommended upgrades to the building by connecting participants with qualified contractors, rebates and financing. Minnesota Energy Resources provides this at no cost to the building owner or manager. Building owners interested in the Multifamily Energy Savings program, or other energy-saving programs provided by Minnesota Energy Resources, can find more information at: www.minnesotaenergyresources.com.
