June Art Saturday

It’s time for the June Art Saturday and a great lineup is in store for anyone who would like to be a little creative.  Art Saturdays are sponsored by the Kanabec County Art Association and open to anyone who would like to experience a different art form.  They are held at the Public Services building in Mora (905 E. Forest St) on the third Saturday of each month (except for the months of July and December).  For more information contact Lauri Rockne at 651-224-2319.

Morning classes (9:30-11:30)

Drawing with Denise Morris.  Join this supportive, monthly group of sketchers of all levels and experience.  Bring a sketchbook and a 2B or softer pencil.  Feel free to join the class even though it is ongoing.

Baskets with Carl Long.  Create a basket with natural barks, leaves and fibers.   $8.00 materials fee.

Lunchtime topic:  What does composition have to do with it?  Bring your lunch and join us for a multi media discussion.

Afternoon classes (12:30 – 2:30)

Fairy gardens with the Town & Country Garden Club.   Combine plants, stones, twigs and other elements to create a dish garden.  Ages 4 and up, preferably accompanied by an adult.  Maximum: 20 students

 

Ceramic Wind Chimes with Deb Newton and Terri Huro.  Create your own chimes out of clay.  Clay firing dates and process will be discussed. Ages 16 and up.Wind Chimes

Composition and Design with Dee Kotaska and Rex Lindberg.  Understand the rules of composition and how they affect all mediums of art.  Understand the golden mean.   Ages 14 and up.
