Come join us for the 33rd annual Snake River Canoe Race on May 3rd, 2014! This is a great race through Kanabec County. The race starts at the Snake River Bridge on County Road 3, north of Mora. It follows the Snake River to town and finishes at the Kanabec History Center. At the race finish there are people to help get your boat out of the water, there are snacks for sale, bonfires to warm up on those chilly years, and an awards ceremony. All ages and abilities are welcome. There are pro boat and open racing classes as well as citizen classes. Canoe or kayak, single or double, everyone is welcome.
The Snake River Canoe Race is one of four events that make up the Mora Classic Series. The other events include the Mora Half Marathon in August, the Mora Bike Tour in September, and the Vasaloppet Ski Race in February. You may start with any event, but you must finish all four events within a year to complete the classic series and get a medal.
