The big storm

A winter storm that moved through east central Minnesota overnight has left the area buried. Snowfall totals in Isanti (the nearest reporting station) indicated that 11″ had fallen by 1am, with a total snow depth of 25″.

Mora and Ogilvie Schools had initially anticipated late starts for this morning. But as the storm progressed, both schools were forced to promote their late starts to closings. Mora and Ogilvie Schools will be closed today, February 21st.

The snow is now ending, and no more is in sight for the immediate future – but expect temperatures to take a nosedive, dropping from the above freezing temps we’d seen earlier this week, and landing in the single digits above (and possibly below) zero.
