An initial report from the Times indicates that, while no injuries have been reported thus far, property damage appears severe:
The Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office first received a call from a passerby notifying them of the fire at approximately 3:50 a.m. today. When deputies and The Mora Area Fire Department arrived the building was fully engulfed in flames. At this time the fire has been extinguished but the fire department is still on scene awaiting the arrival of the State Fire Marshal.
While the cause of the fire is not yet known, early observations indicate the fire originated near the building’s pellet stove.
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.
A local resident and owner of a nearby business reported neither seeing nor hearing any associated disturbance overnight.
The Sheriff’s Office tweeted at least one picture from the scene. Times correspondent Trevor Cokley also captured this video of the fire:
A variety of other images have been assembled by the Times.
